Situation                                                                                                                                                                            Back                                                                                                                         National Metallurgical Lab (NML) is a Central Government lab for analyzing Building Materials. NML processes approximately 25,000 samples and performs 50,000 analyses per year. Metallurgy group is actively involved in research and development in the areas of process modeling and failure analysis apart from a variety of other testing and consultancy services.
	Requirement   National Metallurgical lab was in search of a full-fledged, stream lined system to assist the Research and Development lab activities of NML .
	Solution   Kriti LIMS conducted system study with Laboratory Management, Scientific Staff, Administrative Staff and major users of NML laboratory. The system study includes sample and evidence receiving, processing, inventory tracking and management, work scheduling, analytical processes, data reporting, internal monitoring, quality assurance and control, database integration, human resource functions, and client interfaces. Using information collected during the system study, Kriti LIMS provided the complete automation system according to their requirements
	Benefits   Kriti LIMS implementation allowed the laboratory to fine tune their processes to increase efficiency, productivity and ensure regulatory compliance. Now National Metallurgical Lab enjoys increased control of their samples, data management, data access, analysis and meeting regulatory requirements. Kriti LIMS offered a centralized data repository from which final analysis reports can be generated.
